  • You’ll be provided with English language and learning support to assist you while you’re studying the Degree Transfer Program.
  • As our graduate, you won’t be required to provide further evidence of your English language proficiency.
  • You’ll have the flexibility of studying a Degree Transfer Program in one of three formats: extended, standard or accelerated.

Leading to: Bachelor of Information Technology

Designed to deliver practical knowledge and skills, our Bachelor of Information Technology merges industry insights with academic expertise. You will learn in a flexible format guided by academic staff and industry experts to ensure you graduate fully prepared for your exciting career ahead.

Develop a solid background in IT with a range of courses that cover foundational knowledge and lead you towards a preferred major. Step into purpose-built workspaces designed to foster collaboration and hands-on learning. Here, you'll cultivate essential skills and practical knowledge, preparing you to tackle real-world challenges in the tech industry.

This degree offers flexibility to explore a range of interest areas – so you can chart your own path to success within the dynamic landscape of IT.

Major: Games Development

The Bachelor of Information Technology majoring in Games Development is designed to teach you the knowledge and skills to work in designing and developing interactive games. You’ll be ready for the constantly evolving games industry and equipped for the current information technology landscape.

You will learn foundational information technology knowledge before undertaking your major in Games Development. Learn how to pitch your games ideas to the film and television, education, health, business and defence industries. You’ll learn practical course content in our purpose-built workspaces that are industry-focused and relevant to today’s societal needs.

Developing key skills in information technology principles in your first year, you will learn how to adapt your game development to new game technologies, platforms and design philosophies to prepare you for your future career.

Professionally accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS), you will have total flexibility in this degree to explore other information technology areas and expand your skillset for future career opportunities.

What you'll learn

Benefit from a flexible learning structure with all undergraduate IT degrees sharing a common first-year so you can specialise in Games Development (or any other major) in the second year. In your second year you will dive into the world of games development and explore the opportunity to choose electives from other information technology disciplines.

Be prepared for industry by focusing on a strong foundation in information technology principles and theory. Learn the fundamentals of sound, visual asset and game design, mobile game development as well as building your skills in working in agile teams and professional communication.

Understanding the balance between technical skills and creativity, you will develop the skills needed to design and program games, as well as pitch your ideas and take them to market. You can be assured that you will be learning industry-relevant coursework and transferrable skills to other information technology specialisations.

In your final year, use your knowledge and skills to complete a capstone project where you’ll work with an industry client or develop further a game idea (with program director approval).

You’ll be able to complete majority of first year common courses and second year courses at either our Adelaide City or Mawson Lakes Campus with some potential cross-campus study required. Throughout your degree, you’ll gain access to cutting-edge facilities across both campus locations to enhance your overall learning experience.
