Program Overview

As an international student, you might need, or benefit from, a pathway course before you start to a degree. A pathway course is often necessary because of different education systems of UK and your home country. The International Foundation Year offered by INTO Group, is perfect for international students who do not meet the academic requirements. It'll boost your academic and language skills, and improve your subject knowledge, to the level needed for entry to a degree at the University of East Anglia.

International Foundation in Life Sciences, Health Sciences and Pharmacy is a Four-term program offered by INTO Group.Prepare for entry to Year 1 of an undergraduate degree in pharmacy, health or life sciences at the University of East Anglia (UEA). You’ll participate in interactive, discussion-based classes and complete a research project to develop a strong understanding of issues in healthcare and life sciences.

Leading to:- Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Geography with a Placement Year

Delve into an exploration of the dynamic and ever-changing world we live in – from volcanoes and earthquakes to climate change, pollution and biodiversity loss.

Our BA Geography degree with a Placement Year focuses on the human impact of our changing world and offers you the exciting opportunity to gain real-world experience to give your career a head start. At UEA, you’ll study some of the most pressing problems facing the planet, including climate change, resource management, urban change, health, migration and poverty. Your studies will span both human and physical geography, but with an emphasis on human geography. You’ll learn from world-leading researchers, exploring the interaction of human society and the environment. You’ll also take part in exciting national and international fieldwork trips to places such as Devon, the Lake District and Spain.

With lots of flexibility in module choice, you’ll take part in group projects, developing specialist skills, and working with real-world organisations. You’ll develop highly valued transferable skills, from critical thinking, data analysis, fieldwork and spatial visualisation, to writing policy briefs and developing real-world applications of social theories of change.

Real-world learning is at the heart of our BA Geography degree. In classrooms, on field courses, and in meetings with external companies, you'll develop a broad understanding of geographical issues, theories and how to apply them. In year one, you'll learn about the most pressing geographical, environmental and sustainability problems, whilst in years two and four, you'll choose from a wide range of specialisms including environment, energy and society; political and economic geography; and cultural and historical geography. You’ll enhance your studies and employability by spending year three on an industrial work placement, giving you hands-on experience.

Most importantly, you’ll graduate with the skills to make a difference. The ability to work across the social, human and physical sciences is in demand in both private and public sector graduate jobs, where you'll be able to provide real-world solutions to today’s challenges. Check out Nikil’s story, who is now working as a Policy Officer for DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs), having graduated with a BSc in Geography from UEA.
