A Foundation Year with ARU College is a two trimester course that takes place before your degree at ARU.  This means that your degree will take 4 years to complete in total.

Foundation Year in Business

Do you want to own your own business, be a consultant or manager, market new and interesting products? Whatever the end goal, a foundation in Business will help students understand real-world application of business theory and strategy.

Our Pathway in Business begins by helping you understand the basics needed in any business industry and a variety of intercultural situations. Based in Cambridge and Chelmsford, you’ll interact with businesses and get inspired by guest speakers like our ‘Be Your Own Boss’ Seminar series. Our business school has many opportunities to begin implementing your ideas, even before you graduate with many industry contacts and ARU’s Big Pitch business idea competition.

BSc (Hons) in Business with Finance

You want to be a manager who makes critical business decisions. You have an entrepreneurial mindset, and you’re eager to develop your leadership abilities and financial know-how.

As a Business with Finance student at ARU, you’ll get all the prowess of a business degree, along with the financial discipline to make big, informed decisions.

Get practical experience with our Bloomberg Financial Markets Lab, and an optional placement year.

You’ll find that our Business with Finance course brings together the entrepreneurial approach and analytical mindset you need to succeed.

ARU’s teaching facilities include our Bloomberg Financial Markets Lab, where you’ll be able to practice your skills from the first year. It will be your safe space to learn all the tricks of the trade. This way, you’ll be ready for your first graduate role with proficiency in contemporary platforms that are used around the financial world.

Receiving an industry-recognised Bloomberg certification on graduation will only increase your pool of career options. From chartered management accountant and credit analyst, through management consultant and corporate investment banker, to bank manager, marketing executive, project manager or environmental manager – the routes after this degree are immeasurable.

From an employer’s perspective, the confidence you will gain in understanding the financial side of a business — and being able to think critically at this level — makes you an ideal candidate for a more senior role.
